In addition to my answer to a comment there is a point which regarding my opinion is a shame... In 2024 when a lot of people can do homeworking... ... how is it possible that usb downstream ports are not compatible with webcam? I will try to find out if those display with integrated video conferencing capabilities have the same drawback or not... Especially as the P2418HZ I got from work in 2020 is bullshit regarding audio quality (and such a wide angle!!). I am using Dell screens for a while! U2408, then U3011 and the U3014 since a long time now and a lot of Dell screens at work. I wanted to replace the 3014 but with such restrictions... I could just go to another provider.

PSA: if you own an XPS model, it’s probably because the battery has fried the cpu or is causing overheating. These computers have a “fake sleep feature” which they use to turn on at the absolute worst times (in a bag) to do updates, creating a hot environment. They have poor cooling.

The BIOS thing didn't work for me. It only worked when I installed the Alienware drive. Worth trying it if this video didn't help you.

Why does the background look like it's sick?

I have a new Inspiron 15 3520 laptop and it works excellent. However, the only thing that worries me is that it immediately turns on, it gets too hot. I monitor the temperature with Core Temp 1.18.1 and also with HWiNFO64 and they give me messages about very high Core temperatures, sometimes it indicates a critical level. Why is this happening and how can I improve it? I try to deal directly with DELL and that is a real impossible task.

I AM FINDING THAT DELL SUPPORT IS ABSOLUTELY USELESS, AND JUST SENDS YOU ROUND AND ROUND IN A REPEAT LOOP. YOU PUT YOUR DETAILS INTO "SIGN IN" AND IT ALSO WANTS A "ONE TIME PASS NUMBER" SENT TO YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS, WHICH YOU HAVE TO GO AND ACCESS THEN WHEN YOU PUT THE GIVEN NUMBER IN IT STATES, "EXPIRED" AND AFTER SIX ATTEMPTS IT TIMES YOU OUT. VERY CLEVER DELL, A WAY OUT OF DEALING WITH PROBLEMS. yOUR SO-CALLED TECH SUPPORT DOES SIMILAR AND IF YOU RING, YOU ARE OFFERED VOICE ACTIVATION AND WHEN YOU SAY "CUSTOMER CARE" AN AUTOMATED RESPONSE DIRECTS YOU TO THE SAME LOOPED SYSTEM.

Diddnt work for me. My Dell did a periodic Update as I closed down one night and next day I couldnt download images from my Camera SD card. AT ALL When will microsoft sort this bug out???? The so-called DELL "Fixes" havent worked and, believe me, I've tried most everything, and getting in touch will Dell Support in the U.K. is damned near impossible, even though I paid extra for the Engineer Visit. I need my SD card reader as I work with a lot of photos, what do you suggest please?

How do I install an ssd into this laptop

I have TWO WD15 Dell monitors connected to a Dell docking station (& then to a Dell laptop). One monitor is working perfectly; the other looks "dead". My first test was to remove the cables (power & connection) from the bad monitor and connect the good monitor with those - and the good monitor still works. Also connected the "bad" monitor with the cables normally used by the "good" monitor, and the "bad" monitor is still DOA. I wish these monitors had a tiny light on the front to show us that they at least have power. The power on/off button location - upside down - is too hard to see if the monitor "think" the power is on or off. So. All of these instructions are for ONE bad monitor. Does anyone have a solution or set of steps when one monitor is just fine and the other monitor seems DOA?
